Male vs. Female

As a breeder, it is amazing the number of people who say they want a female. After all, females have better temperaments, right? WRONG! That is a myth, and it is completely inaccurate. I want you to totally remove that thought from your head. Right now....erase it....Did you erase it? Good!

There was a recent discussion among doodle breeders about this issue. You can find a copy of the discussion by clicking here.

When we choose a puppy for your family, the very first thing we consider is temperament, not gender! Part of our job as a breeder is to do our very best to match a puppy personality to your family, your lifestyle, and your experience with dogs. If you want a dog to go jogging with every morning, my one female omega personality dog is not the dog for you. If your family spends a lot of time traveling in the car, my male very energetic puppy is not the dog for you.

Here is something else to consider. Our puppies are spayed and neutered between 6 and 8 weeks of age. (as soon as all the males' testicles have descended.) That means the puppies got very little, if any, hormonal influence to affect their personalities. The word "Eunuch" comes to mind. LOL

So, choose your puppy by personality, and not gender!
